The Down East Sunrise Trail was opened today, May 14, 2022 for all to enjoy, and Joyous Vagaries decided to take full advantage! Rapha went to the parking area on Ayers Junction Road, where the fat fire bikes were unloaded, and set up amid a plethora of black flies. In less than 10 minutes the ride began heading to Dennysville, with a plan to return to Rapha, and then drive off to Machias for another ride.
On the return ride back to Rapha, it was decided to leave Rapha where he was, and try riding all the way back home to Eastport – accomplished! This ride totaled approximately 26 miles today. The weather was perfect for a terrific ride!
Awesome! in every way — great photos of great views. Your new bikes look perfect. The seats look super comfortable—any butt cramps with them? How many miles do you think you can go on a single charge? Where did you purchase them? Marty is starting to shop for a new e-bike. His is showing some wear and tear after maybe a couple of thousand miles–many of those on beaches, which was worth the added wear. He bought his current e-bike online, which proved to be a mistake when it had a problem and had to be shipped back to the manufacturer. I said never again but he’s shopping online once again . . . .
The seats are far more comfortable than what came with the bikes. Having ridden close to 30 miles, no sore or crampy butt! Will be using the same seat on the Magnums as well. The battery is advertised to go +65 miles, but that, of course is with optimal conditions (who ever gets that?). On average, one may see something close to 50 miles, in the best on conditions. Time will tell on that. The bikes were purchased from EZ Electric Bikes and Scooters in Exeter, NH. Have you tried looking at Electric Bikes of New England in Londonderry? Although they don’t sell Addmotor bikes, but they do sell other fat tire e-bikes, and have great customer sales and service. We bought our Magnums from them in 2018.
