A weekend at Baxter State Park

Even with a broken leg, one can still enjoy an extended weekend at Baxter State Park by staying at one of the handicap cabins on Daicey or Kidney Pond, and taking a drive through the park to catch some nice views, with the hope of seeing some wildlife.

The weather was perfect for a visit this past weekend. There wasn’t a lot of wildlife to see on this trip to Baxter, but it was a treat to see as many as seven Loon’s on Kidney Pond! There were some nice views of Double Top and Katahdin, some kettle ponds, and Nesowadnehunk Stream, to name a few.
