Acadia National Park

Memorial Day weekend of 2023 was spent camping at Schoodic Woods Campground, and spending some time on Mount Desert Island at Acadia National Park. The weather was perfect, with plenty of sunshine, and no rain! The crowds at Acadia weren’t too ‘peoplely’.

Driving the loop around Acadia was very enjoyable. During the drive, we scoped out several carriage roads throughout the park where we could ride our e-bikes, which will be a different trip.

Although we were unable to snag a road pass reservation to see the sunrise from the top of Cadillac Mountain (only available online) we drove to the top later in the AM. Despite no sunrise to see, the view from the top was nice. It was quite windy, with wind chills that felt like it was in the upper 30’s. Although we were were dressed for Spring/Summer, most everyone else was dressed for winter – down coats, hats, mittens. Even though it is almost June, the chilly temps would make one feel like ‘winter’ wasn’t quite yet done.
