Another “light” day of the NOBO LASH, this short 2.2-mile section of trail spans between Geary Wolfe Rd. (PA 645) and Bethel Rd (PA 501). The hike started early (before 7:00 AM), with partly cloudy skies, temps in the low 40’s, and a very slight breeze.
This short section of trail had 3 views, and includes one shelter (501 Shelter). The shelter is more like a cabin. People seemed to be moving about in the cabin, so it was decided not to enter and disturb at such an early hour.
At one of the view sites, the rocky outcrop was tagged with graffiti. This is most likely to due the close proximity of this viewing site to PA 501.
Although this was a short hike, it was still very enjoyable.
