Lehigh Furnace Gap

Another two day run of this NOBO LASH includes a 20-mile section that spans between Hawk Mountain Road and Lehigh Furnace Gap.

Doing this section involved hiking in periods of rain and dense fog, making all of the grand overlooks obscured. There were all kinds of rocks…small rocks, tiny pointed rocks, large rocks, and boulders. They came in all shapes…sharp edged, rounded smooth, razor sharp, and even jagged. The rain made all these PA rocks very slippery, making it even more difficult to navigate than usual.  Not much fun was had, but the job got done!
