Benny’s Mountain Trail

Found some time today to hike Benny’s Mountain Trail in Lubec, ME, which is one of 4 trails in Hamilton Cove. Hamilton Cove is part of the Maine Coast Heritage Trust. The weather was perfect: Sunny, light breeze, with temps in the low 70’s. The bugs weren’t horrible, but they were definitely noticeable!

This was an easy 2.4 mile out and back trail. The trail consisted of many grassy paths, most of which were quite narrow, making a bit difficult to notice hidden rocks under the grass – could be an ankle twister if one is not careful! There were quite a few strategically placed puncheons along the trail which were a welcome respite from the narrow portions of the trail.

Overall, this was a pleasant and very easy hike, with a lovely view to enjoy at the top!
