Today’s joyous vagary was a 2.3 mile loop hike along the Long Point Trail near Machiasport, Maine. The trail could be considered more than 2.3 miles given where the first parking area was (approximately .5 miles from the parking area where the trail is supposed to begin).
There were actually 3 general parking areas, and one additional parking area for handicap and staff parking. Over half of the trail involved walking along a gravel road. The loop trail portion was all woods walking, with a few viewing points.
Overall, this was a nice trail, easily hiked, but not as impressive as other hikes taken along the Bold Coast.
