Continuing the NOBO LASH from WV to ME, this 6.3 mile section of trail spans between the Blackburn Trail Center and Keys Gap, WV. The day started shortly after sunrise, with temps in the upper 40’s to low 50’s, mostly cloudy skies, and a light breeze from the West.
This section of trail offered very little for views off the ridge. There was supposed to be a view off of Buzzard Rocks, but the side trail leading to it was not found. Despite the lack of views, the hike did end up being a very pleasant woods walk. Some deer were seen in the early morning part of the hike, along with a plethora of grey squirrels throughout the duration of the hike. Only a handful of people were met along the way, most of whom seemed to be taking advantage of the nice weather on this St. Patrick’s Day.
