Coming into the ‘home stretch’ of the AT in Pennsylvania, this 15.7-mile section of the NOBO LASH spans between Wind Gap in Pennsylvania and the Kittatinny Point Visitor Center in New Jersey. This last section now completes the AT in Pennsylvania!
There is only one shelter in this section – Kirkridge Shelter. A Phoebe seems to have made that shelter its current home.
There were a few views along this section of trail – Views of the Delaware River Valley, Mount Tammany from the top of Mount Minsi, and views of the Delaware River. Of course, there were other ‘views’ of several radio and cell phone towers along the way. Several day hikers were encountered between the Mount Minsi Overlook and Delaware Water Gap.
The weather was cooperative for this hike – mostly sunny, with temps reaching the low 70’s by the end of the hike.
This was a nice end to the section hikes in Pennsylvania!
