Bascom Lodge

After completing our much needed around-the-house projects, we continue our ECT journey in New England at Mount Greylock. To recover from our labors at home, we had a restful two-day stay at Bascom Lodge.  While there, we found a few occasions to enjoy some warm fires in the lodge as the weather was on the cool side.  With the potential for rain, a brief side trip into North Adams, Massachusetts allowed us to photograph some interesting murals between the raindrops.

As for the food, Monika is an amazing chef.  Every aspect of each dinner we had was delicious.  After being served wine, bread, soup, the entree, and dessert, it is impossible to leave the table feeling hungry or unsatisfied!

It was fun meeting the different hikers and travelers while we were there.  There were three hikers, in particular, who stood out among the many:  An advisor, Nate Maynard, with two students from Lighthouse Holyoke increased the joy of our trip.  We thoroughly enjoyed their company, and wish them a happy and healthy Summer!  If you don’t know about Lighthouse Holyoke, please follow the link to learn more about this amazing school.

On the morning of our departure, we awoke to temps in the upper 30’s, fog, wind, and some rain.  It didn’t take long for the rain to turn into snow!
