Border Crossing at St. Stephen, NB was smooth and uneventful. The border agent was pleasantly polite. After picking up some essentials, the first stop on the Canadian section of our Eastern Continental Journey was at Kingsbrae Garden in St. Andrews, NB. We consider this as our “home” botanical garden. A trip through the Maritimes should absolutely include a visit to Kingsbrae Garden! One should probably allot at least 3 hours to enjoy the gardens as well having a lovely lunch at the Garden Cafe.
We were lucky enough to see the Peonies in what would be described as amazing full bloom!! We are always pleased to be at Kingsbrae. When we leave, we cherish the memories each time. Casey and David greeted us at the admission desk. They were most helpful in informing us as to what was new. The Peonies were the “stars of the show”. Thanks again, Casey and David, for your kind hospitality. We hope to see you on our next visit.
Our next stop was at Ministers Island, where our camper van, “UdaVAN”, rolled across the ocean floor at low tide. There is some very interesting history on the island, which was the summer home of Sir William Van Horne. It was an enjoyable time watching the cattle in field and seeing the old structures around the property. The grounds were beautiful and worthy of a picnic on a nice day. Well worth a visit!
At end of day, we stayed at the New River Beach Provincial Park Campground.
