Within Terra Nova National Park, we hiked the Ochre Hill Trail and the Ochre Hill Pond Trail. At the top of Ochre Hill sits a fire tower which people can climb (to a certain point) should they want a higher view. Continuing from the fire tower a bit further, there is a large viewing platform that provides one with spectacular 360-degree views on a clear day, and this day happened to be one of them! Moving on from the platform, we came across two red chairs, and decided to sit a for a few moments enjoying the view. The Ochre Hill Pond Trail offered a leisurely walk through the woods and around one of the Ochre Hill Ponds.
We only had a one-night stay at Newman Sound Campground within Terra Nova National Park, which provided us with a restful and enjoyable evening.
Upon leaving the National Park, we stopped in Gander for a matinee performance of the play, “Come From Away”, which was over the top amazing. If traveling through the area, it is worth seeing this amazing play. After the play, we stopped for the night at Samson’s Retreat – our favorite AirBnb in Newfoundland. Thanks Debbie and Bill, for a most comfortable stay at your lovely retreat – a true blanket of kindness!
Travel often, stay safe, well, and happy!
